ARTIST'S STATEMENT

High school was my first introduction to jewelry making.  I received my B.F.A. in Art from the University of Northern Iowa, and an M.A. and M.F.A. in studio art from the University of Iowa, with an emphasis in Metalsmithing and Jewelry.

The scale, dynamic process, tools, and accessibility immediately captured my interest.  Today, these same elements continue to hold true.  I implement traditional jewelry making techniques, including lost-wax casting, fabrication, and stone setting to create my jewelry.  I work primarily in sterling silver and gold with precious and semi-precious stones and diamonds.

My work has been featured in numerous exhibitions, galleries, and publications.  I currently maintain a studio in Iowa City, Iowa.
