ARTIST BIOGRAPHY
Royce Yoder makes every piece of his functional, well-conceived pottery in his studio near Lederach, Pennsylvania. He work has been featured in group shows and represented in many fine shops and galleries across the country for over thirty years. Yoder was born in Kansas and received a BA in Art from Goshen College in Indiana. His Iowa connections are numerous. His parents are both originally from Kalona and he has several aunts and lots of cousins still living in the Kalona-Wellman area. Royce Yoder lived on a farm outside of Wellman from 1957-1962 and attended a one-room school, Franklin #7 through 2nd grade.
Yoder uses only lead-free glazes. Other instructions include the following;
Stoneware pottery can be used in the oven and is dishwasher safe. When using in the oven, always preheat the oven and the piece together. Avoid sudden temperature changes. Never place on direct flame, and use with care in a microwave.
