Hope, ME

Artist's Statement

Influenced by a childhood interest in origami, my earliest jewelry was designed by bending and folding cut paper, and then metal shapes into three dimensional forms. Now, more than thirty years later I am still sawing, hammering, and hand bending precious metals into jewelry.

My recent work involves translating forms observed in nature into wearable design. I work with that essential line or shape that captures a subject in the simplest, most elegant way. My goal is to develop graceful, well crafted designs that will bring many years of enjoyment to the wearer.
