ARTIST'S STATEMENT

I am a 4^th generation Amana person since my great grandparent came here to the US in the 1850s. My life as always centered on the Amanas; the only time that I was away for here was when I was attending college!!

After collage I came back to the Amanas to start the Kindergarten through 12 grade arts program in the Amana schools… It was a great environment since many of the families had remarkable interest in the arts and crafts. The community was always very supportive of the arts and had a great understanding and appreciation for arts and crafts. Many had original arts in their home environment. 

I never will run out of images……. I want people that view my pastels to enjoy the landscape as I do……. Hopefully my work shows something good about the Midwest!
